Food, drink and agriculture is a growth sector in the region's economy. Already employing more than 22,000 people and accounting for over 20% of Scotland's food and drink output.

The Industry ambition is for north east Scotland to be at the forefront of low-carbon food and drink production, advanced digital automated manufacturing and premium market development.

Opportunity North East delivers the North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards, working in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council to celebrate success, inspire ambition and support market development within the region’s food and drink industry. The awards are a key component of a broader programme of action to drive growth and investment within the sector.

INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE

The region has celebrated the innovation and excellence of its food and drink businesses and the people working in the industry for over 30 years.

Each year, over 40 businesses participate in the awards across categories that reflect the diversity of the sector. Both shortlisted and winning companies report increased sales, new trade connections and greater recognition of their brand, products, and innovation. All entries will benefit from enhanced profiles with industry buyers and for winners, category prizes will provide practical growth support, including use of the product development kitchen at ONE SeedPod.

The awards dinner is the premiere sector event in the region, attracting 250 food and drink professionals and showcasing the best food and drink from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray.
